It took me a few seconds to actually see the map!! To a certain extent it shows that this idea worked well. My inital thought was that it was a normal cow, and I couldn't grasp the design concept..... I agree that in the right location,this image would be much stronger.
I agree, I think the good thing about this is that you dont see it at first, At first glance it does look like a regular cow pattern., and thats why it works. I was trying to think of other instances where it could be used, but to be honnest its quite hard. you need two patterns / symbols that look similar for it to work, yest seem strange in the others envrioment.

i agree with you, at first i didn't see what the fuss was about but its a clever idea when u realise.
