the way you look at cancer

This exhibition currently on display in buenos aires is aimed at making people see cancer in a different light. there are several images of different types of cancer from lung, skin to ovarian. looking at the cancer as an art form is suggested that it is a more positive way of seeing cancer for the patients. the client for this exhibition is the hospital aleman oncology department which is a leading hospital in treating cancer.

do you think that looking at cancer and seeing it as an art form is a way of thinking of it more positively?

keep the flame alive campaign

a new three image campaign by Saatchi and Saatchi for the client havana florists/interflora titled 'keep the flame alive'. images titled snapdragon, daisy and lily. such a simple idea with an accompanying tag line encouraging us to send flowers more often to those we 'love' to 'keep the flame alive'. simple photoshop work i think which were probably quite easy to create.

This fascinating sculpture by Jeff Koons is constructed from soley stainless steel with a transparent colour coating. Jeff Koons is an american artist currently living and working in new york, he blends the concerns and methods of pop, conceptual and appropriation art with craft-making and popular culture to create his own unique iconography, which is often controversial. He quotes that 'art is really just communication of something and the more archetypal it is, the more communicative it is.'

His mains concerns are with sex, desire, race, gender, celebrities, media and fame. He turns the traditional cliche of the work of art inside out to produce stunning outcomes like the sculpture above. His work is currently on display in the gogosian gallery on madison avenue in new york.
